ABOUT ME
I am a retired nurse with 20+ years nursing experience. I dearly love nursing, but after so many years in it I decided I wanted to try something different. After I retired I tried to think of different types of businesses that I could start that would be both fun and flexible. The idea of starting a pet sitting business immediately came to mind. This is how YOUR CRITTER SITTER BIRMINGHAM BHM Pet sitting Services came about. I have had pets almost all my life. I have a family member who is a vet so my children have been exposed to animals of all sorts. I currently have 3 cats of my own, a Flamepoint Himmie (Sparky), a Tortie Himmie (Bonnie Blue)and a Persian mix (Chrissy). To me animals make a home feel not so empty if you are alone.There is no disputing all the studies that show the therapeutic values of pet ownership.

I am a member of The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) and Professional United Pet Sitters. I am also a member of several online petsitting forums.

I have found pet sitting to be fun and rewarding. Animals are always happy to see you. It's nice to get a free warm, wet kiss and see a wagging tail. It is also great to see a purring cat waiting to be petted. I find that many of my nursing skills are applicable in pet sitting. I am very detail oriented. Also I am very much a people person and I enjoy the interaction between clients' and their pets. Never underestimate how smart pets are! Look @ the animals in the Tsunami.They knew long before humans that they needed to flee to safer round.Studies show elderly or widowed people who adopt a pet live longer. Studies show pet owners tend to be happier vs those living alone.
These are all great reasons to adopt a pet. They provide you with unconditional love and attention !!!!

I generally limit my pet sitting and dog walking services to Birmingham AL, (Downtown and Southside), and The Over-The-Mountain communities. This includes Homewood, all areas of Mountain Brook, Vestavia, Irondale, Crestwood, Forest Park, and the Eastwood area . I do this in order to provide better quality of care and service. By clustering my visits together I am able to save time on driving which in turn gives me more time to lavish your pets with high-quality TLC. Sometimes I do make exceptions to go to slightly outer lying areas but an extra surcharge based on mileage for gas will be charged .
I care for all types of household pets except for snakes and iguanas. These are 2 fears I have yet to conquer !!! I look forward to being of service to you and your pet(s) should the need arise.
